FILLED JOB

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Not for Profit, Continuum of Supports

Location:East York, Ontario

Maxwell Management Group Ltd. is proud to partner with St Clair O’Connor Community in the search for a Chief Executive Officer.

About:

The St Clair O’Connor Community (SCOC) was founded 40 years ago as a multi-generational, mixed-income residential community in support of seniors. Its vision is to lead the way to new models of service, housing and care that define a healthy community for people of all ages.

In keeping with the Anabaptist values of its Mennonite founders, SCOC pioneered the provision of in-home support to allow elders with increasing frailties to live independently, developed person-centred day programs to enable people with dementia to retain meaningful lives, and in other ways. Building on its history, SCOC now plans to expand its apartment and townhouse options for elders and families, and to transform its small 25-person long-term care unit into expanded ‘networks of caring’ within a small house model. In addition, we want to revitalize and expand inter-generational program relationships with partners in the geographic community and supporting congregations.

Position Summary:

As the CEO of SCOC, you will play a critical role in providing strategic leadership and oversight across a range of areas. Your work will have a direct impact on the well-being of seniors and their families, as well as on the organization’s continued growth and success.

Responsibilities:

Vision and Strategic Direction:

The CEO’s role is to provide transformative leadership, innovation, and vision for SCOC. You will drive the strategic planning and implementation of organizational development initiatives and ensure open communication and sound organizational oversight and governance. You will engage in short, medium, and long-term strategic planning processes in coordination with the Board to ensure ongoing alignment with SCOC’s mission, values and vision. An immediate priority will be to expand and redevelop its long term care unit into ‘small houses’ within an envisioned new residential building.

Advocacy and Representation:

The CEO will guide and assist team members, clients, and community champions to effectively represent SCOC’s vision and values to industry partners, donors, sponsors, media, and community leaders. You will develop and maintain close ties with the sponsoring congregations.

Culture and Team:

In this area, the CEO will foster a collaborative community spirit amongst staff, residents and clients within SCOC and its relational communities. You will uphold and embody SCOC’s values of inclusion, collaboration, innovation, integrity, and care in all aspects of life and work.

Operations Management:

As CEO, you will oversee all aspects of SCOC’s operations including finance, human resources, facilities management, program development, and delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A strategic and transformational leader with a 5–7-year proven track record of providing confident and impactful leadership in the non-profit, human services sector.
  • A trusted and proven, values-driven executive with great vision, strategic foresight, and critical thinking skills coupled with compassion and exemplary integrity.
  • Knowledge and experience in meeting the regulatory requirements of government funding bodies, particularly LTC and other Ministry of Health programs.
  • Familiarity with philosophies of seniors care and their relationship to fostering lives of autonomy, dignity and purpose amongst elders with increasing frailty within an intergenerational housing community.
  • A connector and builder with the ability to nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Highly emotionally intelligent, trustworthy, and credible.
  • Driven not simply by the opportunity to lead an organization as its executive leader, but by the desire to make a lasting positive impact in the lives of those in your community.

 Compensation:

  • A competitive compensation package has been designed to attract top performers.
