Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the coordination of necessary care duties to ensure the nursing department’s efficient operation, as well as compliance with legislative and Ministry of Health requirements. The RN will provide the highest possible standard of care through effective leadership; provide supervision and assistance during orientation, education, development and evaluation of registered practical nurses and non-registered staff.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Gerontological Nurse Certification (GNC) or equivalent post diploma education is considered an asset
- Possess knowledge in the nursing process and developments and trends in geriatric care, strong leadership and critical thinking skills
- Skill to plan, co-ordinate and supervise a comprehensive nursing care program
- Minimum 1 year experience in Long Term Care Ontario
