We are looking for a talented and experienced HR Professional to lead our Human Resources and Volunteer Services Team.
About:
Better Living consists of three not-for-profit organizations, Better Living Health and Community Services, Better Living at Thompson House and the Better Living Charitable Foundation.
Better Living Health and Community Services has been delivering community support services in the Don Mills area since 1976. We are committed to helping adults and seniors, at all stages, experience a better quality of life by providing essential services that assist seniors and disabled adults wishing to live independently at home and allow respite for people in a care giving role. Better Living Health and Community Services also includes the operation of the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket.
Better Living at Thompson House is a 136-bed long-term care facility providing semi-private accommodation for individuals who have complex medical or support needs.
The Better Living Charitable Foundation raises funds that are used to support Better Living Health and Community Services and Better Living at Thompson House.
Position Summary:
Working collaboratively with the management team across the Better Living Family of Organizations, the Director of Human Resources, is responsible for establishing the human resources policies of the organization and guiding the application of human resources standards of practice. The Director will also leverage their expert knowledge to successfully navigate labour relations issues and drive a culture of organizational citizenship to support strategic priorities and achieve organizational outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or post-graduate education with a focus on human resources management, or combination of equivalent education and professional work experience required.
- Achievement of professional designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
- Registered and in good standing with the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).
- Management experience in a human resources leadership role an asset; new and emerging HR leaders welcome to apply.
- Ontario Ministry of Labour approved Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification.
