Assistant Director of Care (ADOC), Registered Nurse (RN), Not for Profit – Community for Seniors

Position Overview:
As a member of the Shalom Coaching Management Team, this position is directly responsible to the Director of Care/Executive Coach of Resident Care to assist in the management and leadership of resident care and services. The ADOC will ensure adherence to the respective regulations and legislation in Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, the Resident’s Bill of Rights, the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the home’s mission, vision, values and policies.
As a member of the Shalom Village Leadership Team, this position has a key accountability in assuring resident and staff safety by adhering to all necessary policies and procedures in regards to safety. In particular, attention to resident safety issues during all walk abouts and team meetings is an essential and daily accountability of this position.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc.N. or equivalent relevant experience with current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- Minimum 2 years experience in gerontology or long term care fields
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices
- Computer proficiency is a necessary component of this position
- Education and experience in Infection Prevention and Control practices including infectious diseases, cleaning and disinfecting, data collection and trend analysis, reporting protocols and outbreak management
