Job Summary & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC), the Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) supports clinical leadership and nursing operations at Union Villa Long-Term Care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centred care aligned with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Clinical Operations & Quality: Support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services while ensuring compliance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and Ministry of Long-Term Care requirements.
  • Clinical Programs & Assessments: Oversee clinical programs (e.g., Skin & Wound Care, Falls Prevention, IPAC, Pain and Continence Care) and ensure accurate and timely resident assessments, including InterRAI.
  • Quality Improvement & Compliance: Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and audit clinical documentation to maintain compliance and enhance care outcomes.
  • Human Resources: Assist with staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff education within a unionized environment.
  • Resident-Centred Care & Risk Management: Address resident and family concerns, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions while promoting resident independence and choice.

This role is ideal for a clinically strong and compassionate leader committed to high-quality resident care, team development, and continuous improvement within a long-term care environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a unionized long-term care environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gerontological nursing, nursing management, and applicable legislation including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, Resident’s Bill of Rights, and occupational health and safety regulations.

Compensation:

  • The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • The total rewards package includes health and dental benefits, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), and an RRSP matching program.
