Position Overview:

The Administrator Long Term Care is a critical role at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre Brantford (SJLCB). The Administrator Long Term Care is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Long-Term Care Home and has overall accountability for resident experience, operations management, and performance of the LTC home.

The role is responsible for ensuring that the home is compliant with all applicable legislation, standards and requirements, and is responsible for the maintenance of an atmosphere conducive to achieving optimal health and welfare conditions for residents, staff and visitors.

 Qualifications:

  • University education in health or social services, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic decision-making, leadership, budget management, human resources and operations
  • Strong knowledge of the LTCHA and Regulations, Ministry Long Term Care Directives, the Registered Health Professionals Act, Narcotic Control Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and budget methods would be an asset
  • Certification as a Long-Term Care Home Administrator. Candidates not possessing this certification will be required to do so in compliance with the Long-Term Care Act
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive management and experience in healthcare
  • Knowledge base in geriatrics and gerontology and interest and experience in working with the elderly
