Axium Infrastructure has been very active in the publicly-funded long term-care sector in Canada over the past six years. Through partnerships with four operators (Revera, AgeCare, Optima Living and Kirby Group), Axium now holds majority equity ownership interests in 71 senior’s living facilities in five Canadian provinces (Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Newfoundland). As part of the continued growth of this asset class within Axium’s portfolio, the firm is looking to add a Director of Operations – LTC to its team. The role is focused on supporting Axium’s existing long-term care platforms and development projects in the sector.

Founded in 2009, Axium Infrastructure is an independent employee-owned fund manager dedicated to investing in the infrastructure sector. With over 90 employees, the firm benefits from the extensive infrastructure backgrounds of its team of professionals who have gained, over their career, significant experience acquiring, developing, financing, operating, and managing infrastructure assets. Position Overview:

Constantly growing since its inception, Axium Infrastructure is now looking for a Director of Operations – LTC. The role may be based anywhere in Canada (some travel required). In collaboration with the Asset Management team, you will be accountable for overseeing all phases of long-term care home operations in the asset portfolios. The Director of Operations – LTC will work to implement best practices, ESG initiatives, and provide support through analysis of key risks and benchmarking of operating parameters and metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Axium’s investments in the long-term care sector.
Support monthly reporting and variance analysis of actual to budget, business plans and forecasts.
Coordinate and support the budget and forecast process by reviewing initiatives and the impact on base case, financials and operational metrics.
Review compliance and clinical key performance indicators for the portfolio.
Review and analyze key performance indicators to contribute to the overall performance improvement of the joint ventures.
Review long-term CapEx plans to ensure sustainability of the business plan.
Manage relationships with key stake holders.
Conduct site visits and attend monthly meetings with partners.
Represent Axium and its partnerships to lenders.
Work with investment managers on due diligence

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care will oversee the provision of nursing care for residents within the home in keeping with the philosophy and policies. The Director of Care is an integral member of the leadership team, supporting endeavors within the home by collaborating with other teams, regional resources and supporting the programs and practices.

Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors the operational activities of the Nursing Department to provide quality resident care.
Establishes and implements goals, objectives and policies that follow regulatory requirements and are aligned with the organization’s values.
Applies a resident-centered care approach that focuses on relationships and actively engages residents, families, and extended team members in relation to resident care needs and department activities.
Promotes a positive and safe work environment for staff and residents.

Qualifications:

Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or Manitoba Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba. Preference given to graduates of a Bachelor of Nursing Program, Nursing Administration Program or equivalent.
Experience in long-term care an asset
Two to three years of leadership or supervision experience required.
Active knowledge of Manitoba Health Standards, Accreditation, resident centered philosophies is required.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care is responsible for managing all aspects of nursing care within the Home to ensure quality resident care through the effective, efficient delivery of established standards within legislative and budgetary requirements.

Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes, directs and supervises the activities of the Nursing Department to provide quality resident care.
Interprets nursing philosophy and establishes and implements goals and objectives, policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Membership or eligible for membership with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
At least one year of experience working as a registered nurse in the long-term care sector preferred.
Experience as a registered nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills required.
Knowledge of applicable legislation, unionized settings and labour contracts preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including education.
