Riverside Health Care Facilities Inc. is a fully accredited, multi-site healthcare system serving communities across the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario. With headquarters in Fort Frances, the organization operates La Verendrye General Hospital, Rainycrest, Rainy River Health Centre (21 LTC beds with 4 acute care beds), and Emo Health Centre (12 LTC beds with 3 acute care beds), providing essential hospital, emergency, long-term care, and community-based services throughout the region.
Together, Riverside Health Care’s healthcare sites support a catchment area of more than 20,000 residents across a large rural district, helping ensure access to vital healthcare services close to home. Through a broad range of programs, including emergency services, rehabilitation, community counselling, long-term care, and specialized clinics, Riverside Health Care plays an important role in supporting the health and well-being of residents across the Rainy River District.

Position Overview & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Executive, the Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and management of operations at the Rainy River and Emo Health Centres. The role supports the delivery of high-quality healthcare services while ensuring operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Operational Leadership & Program Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and monitor operational activities and quality improvement initiatives across the Rainy River and Emo Health Centres to support effective service delivery and organizational objectives.
- Leadership Support & Human Resources Collaboration: Provide oversight and support to the Director of Care and collaborate on human resource functions to ensure effective staff management and operational support.
- Regulatory Compliance & Organizational Standards: Work collaboratively with Department Managers to ensure compliance with organizational standards, collective agreements, applicable legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Management & Strategic Planning: Oversee and monitor budget envelopes, strategic fiscal plans, and occupancy levels while supporting responsible financial management and operational planning.
- Quality Improvement & Risk Management: Ensure quality improvement and risk management activities are implemented and maintained, including the investigation and reporting of critical incidents and the development of appropriate follow-up actions.
- External Collaboration & Community Coordination: Communicate and collaborate with related long-term care and healthcare agencies to support coordination and planning of long-term care services across the region.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Credentials:
- University degree or equivalent professional experience; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a Long-Term Care Administrator Program.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required as a condition of employment.
Knowledge of Legislation & Sector Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/10.
- Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements related to long-term care operations and healthcare service delivery.
Leadership & Management Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the health or social services sector, preferably in long-term care.
- Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations, fiscal management, strategic planning, risk management, and change leadership.
Compensation:
- Annual salary range of $98,492.82 – $131,324.97, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- This is a full-time position scheduled at 75 hours bi-weekly, typically Monday through Friday.
- Comprehensive benefits package including HOOPP pension plan participation and health and dental benefits through Blue Cross.
- Relocation support may be negotiable for the successful candidate.
