As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our leadership team as the Environmental Services Manager.
Position Overview:
Kristus Darzs Latvian Home is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to oversee the Maintenance, Laundry, and Housekeeping teams. This role is critical in maintaining a clean and safe Home. The successful candidate will ensure the facility meets the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance, supporting the health and well-being of our residents.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma with preference given to Environmental Services Management, Facilities Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within environmental services, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting
- Knowledge and experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general maintenance
- Experience managing a property on well water and septic systems is a bonus
- Working knowledge of a number of Provincial codes, standards and laws including but not limited to the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Fixing Long Term Care Home Act, small drinking water systems, and related regulations
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and staff effectively while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident safety and care
- Knowledge of IPAC standards relevant legislation relating to Public Health Act/Ontario and experience in implementing infection prevention protocols
