Origin Lifestyle Communities is bringing Swan Evergreen Village to the Evergreen Community in southwest Calgary. This brand new state-of-the-art building will boast a wonderful array of impressive amenities; including gourmet dining, coffee lounge, fitness centre, beauty salon, theatre and music room, winery, crafts room and greenhouse. This new site will have 170 suites which will include; memory care, assisted living and independent living.
We are seeking an EXECUTIVE CHEF who will oversee the complete Food Service Department and who can create exceptional menus to meet and exceed the expectations of our valued community members.
Our dining program is among the finest in Canada with a long-standing commitment to nutrition and scratch cooking methods using fresh local ingredients wherever possible.
The “Origin Way” includes gourmet dining with fresh ingredients. Origin spends more to purchase the industry’s highest quality raw food products. With better ingredients, we can develop menu items that are both healthy and tasty. Our goal is to consistently provide families and their guests with extraordinary meals that are created primarily by using scratch cooking methods.
In this key role, you will plan all food preparation as you use skill and imagination to make mealtimes a truly enjoyable experience for community members. You will lead and participate in the hiring and development of dedicated kitchen team members. You will be responsible for food quality, ensuring that nutritious, appetizing and attractive meals are always served. You will also maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness.
To succeed in this role, you will be:
Innovative and creative by nature, with a spirit of entrepreneurship and the ability to think outside the box
Passionate about creating dining experiences and special events such as brunches and themed dinners
Red Seal certified or equivalent
Knowledgeable of menu planning, food costing, yield calculation, and portion control
Expert chef with extensive cooking and production experience in a fast paced environment
