Our valued client is currently seeking a:
Director of Clinical Services, Long Term Care, 
in Calgary, Alberta

 Position Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Clinical Services is responsible and accountable for providing senior leadership in all aspects of the clinical operations for 4 sites in Calgary, ensuring that strategic objectives and operational plans are carried out reflecting the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient health care services.
The position requires a collaborative, forward thinking, experienced health care leader with excellent clinical acumen. You are known for producing results and demonstrating a solid understanding of research methodology and evaluation, clinical standards, audit preparation, MDS/InterRai and quality practices. You will represent and advocate for the Company and Continuing Care as a whole at clinically-related conferences, meetings and functions. You will provide senior level leadership to ensure all clinical care and related services are well planned, organized, delivered and evaluated in accordance with the Company’s Strategic Plan, Core Commitments, Philosophy of Care and best practice standards. Your leadership style is flexible and sensitive to the changing needs of the organization and the health care environment.

  Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Baccalaureate, with current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Business preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and senior level management experience, preferably in continuing care or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in Long Term Care, Hospice and Dementia Care, as well as Supportive Living and Brain Injury, is preferred
  • Membership in the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and the Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) designation are considered assets
  • A dynamic leader who is innovative, open to new ideas with a demonstrated ability to lead and support multi-disciplinary care teams to ensure the provision of high quality care and services
  • A high level of emotional intelligence to effectively engage and interact with other senior and middle level leaders, multi-disciplinary teams and front line care staff
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous, life long learning and education to remain current and up to date on health care related trends, innovation and best practices
  • Ability to develop, write, review and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • A passion for leading staff education and a strong ability to mentor and coach clinical leaders, nursing and allied health staff
