Community Overview:

Parkview Long-Term Care Home is part of a warm community located in a beautiful setting in Stouffville, Ontario, whose focus on innovative practices and values derived from a Christian perspective create an excellent basis for the compassionate care they deliver.
Parkview Home is a 128 bed fully Accredited Long-Term Care Home operating under the Long-Term Care Homes Act regulations. The Home has been owned and operated by The Mennonite Home Association of York County for more than fifty years, providing excellent care and commitment to Residents and their unique needs.
There are five Resident Home Areas (RHA) in the Home named to honour their environment, nature and Parkview’s heritage. Each RHA has its own dining room, sitting room and activity room.

Position Overview:

The Home Administrator is responsible and accountable for the oversight of Parkview Home’s operations in compliance to the Fixing the Long-Term Home Act, 2022, and all other Acts, Regulations and Standards applicable to a Long-Term Care Home operation for the Mennonite Home Association of York County.

Responsibilities:

Quality Management and Reporting
  • Develops, oversees and directs the Quality, Safety and Risk Management Program.
Audit and Compliance Management
  • To be aware and knowledgeable of the various legislative acts and regulation requirements relative to the operation of a long-term care facility.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and government sectors pertinent to Long Term Care sector.
Resource and Performance Management 
  • Participates in the development of budgets and capital planning and oversight of capital projects.
  • Provides quarterly variance reporting to the CEO.
Human Resource Management 
  • Creates a culture of learning, staff engagement and empowerment.
  • Provides collaborative and effective Labour Management with Labour unions.
  • Oversees the delivery of all services in a LTC Home through a team of supervisors who are responsible for services and programs in the Home. This includes but is not limited to: Clinical Care Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Programs and Support Services, Property, Building and Environmental Services and Administrative personnel.
  • Directs general administration of the Home by ensuring the provision of all appropriate administrative and support services, resource management, property management, safety, and security procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health or Social Services.
  • 2 – 3 years’ managerial experience in the Health or Social Services industry.
  • Long-Term Care Administrator Certification (minimum of 100 hours of instruction).
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including mentoring and motivating employees.
