Custodial Supervisor – Evening Shift

Our valued client Holy Trinity School (HTS) is committed to educational excellence, as measured by readiness for university entrance, and to the development of the character and individual abilities of the students within the context of Christian values and personal integrity.  Holy Trinity School (HTS) is a co-educational, university preparatory school for students from JK to grade 12.

The Custodial Supervisor will oversee the day to day custodial activities while demonstrating a high level of leadership, service quality, work planning, and productive task completion.


  • Supervision of shift staff to ensure cleaning and maintenance is completed as outlined in custodians’ work schedules and routines
  • Plan and supervise daily, weekly, monthly tasks and assignments
  • Planning/scheduling tasks and priorities for end of term clean up during the summer, Christmas and March break
  • Responsible for the completion of performance appraisals and performance improvement plans
  • Handles emergency situations to minimize risk and the potential damage and therefore must have a basic knowledge and understanding of the school’s facilities and systems including; fire alarm, burglar alarm, HVAC systems, elevators, plumbing, electrical, etc
  • Identifies and minimizes hazards, potential risks to Student, staff, and families, especially noting seasonal hazards of slipping and falling on the property
  • Identifies, reports and coordinates services in house services or external contractor resources as required to mitigate risk and address hazards
  • Regularly inspects custodial machines and equipment, reporting any items requiring attention. Follows published procedures and best practices for equipment maintenance and safety
  • Performs scheduled inspections of fire and life safety systems, completes daily water flushing requirements
  • Assists Director of Operations to deliver safety, quality and customer satisfaction
  • Identifies and reports situations where external contractor resources are required
  • Coordination with trade contractors which includes:
    • sign in and security information
    • directs contractors while they are on site and ensure work is complete and repaired
    • Maintaining contact information regarding contractors
    • updates files and information
    • written Documentation of work performed and required
  • Maintains halls, washrooms, and dining hall clean throughout the shift and assists with daily cleaning
  • Utilizes work order maintenance systems to process requests, status, and completion
  • Assists with moving furniture, receiving deliveries
  • Prepares the sports fields in readiness for games, other activities and outside rentals
  • Ensures outside grounds, including the trails, tennis court and fields are inspected, clean, and hazard free
  • Performs minor repairs to maintains the school’s equipment and property, as assigned


  • Minimum of secondary school education is required with 3-5 years in a custodial or similar role with supervisory experience
  • Qualified as a Supervisor under OH&SA and WHMIS 2015 Certified
  • First Aid trained
  • Excellent organizational & communication skills (written and verbal) with high attention to detail
  • Thrives on working in a fast pace environment where flexibility and adaptability are required
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to excellence in internal client service
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be innovative and create efficiencies in current processes and procedures
