Our client, a leading provider of healthcare services in Canada for several decades, is currently seeking a VP of Operations & Sales, Retirement Living, to join their progressive management team overseeing up to 10 Retirement Communities across South Western/Southern Ontario.


As a valued member of the team, the VP of Operations & Sales, Retirement Living, demonstrates a commitment to the quality of resident care by providing services in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission and values.

To manage and lead all aspects of the operations in Retirement Communities across Southwestern & Southern Ontario in a manner that enables exemplary standards of customer service in all aspects of service delivery, the achievement of strategic goals, and optimizes shareholder value, consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.


  • Provide overall operational leadership to the Retirement Communities across Southwestern/ Southern Ontario, including but not limited to:  Customer Service, Quality Improvement, Food and Beverage Services, Leisure and  Residence Services, Risk Management, Health & Safety Management, Facilities Management, Human Resources Management and Financial Management.
  • Lead and support General Managers of respective Communities in achieving all key performance standards.
  • Understand and fully execute organization’s HR processes – staffing/recruitment, performance management, coaching/mentoring, compensation and talent development.
  • Develop annual operating plans and capital budgets and execute, monitor, report results and take corrective action as required.
  • Represent the organization’s brand in a professional manner consistent with the values of the organization in all external dealings.
  • Significant travel within Southwestern & Southern Ontario is required, along with travel to the head office in Markham


  • Graduate of a post-secondary education program in business, hospitality, health care, administration or other relevant program.
  • Preference given to Master’s level degree from an accredited university in a related program.
  • Proven leadership experience and abilities in progressively senior operational positions.
  • Previous experience overseeing multiple retirement living communities required.
  • Sound knowledge of health and service administration, human resources, finance and information management.
  • Understanding of and knowledge of all aspects of Senior Living in Canada.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario health care system and all of its components and players including legislation under the RH Act 2010.
  • Strong leader and people manager – demonstrated ability to set direction, lead and drive change in an organization and to create a highly engaged team.
  • Able to deliver results; strong operational skills.
  • Team player; highly collaborative.
  • Committed to excellence, continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
