Sales & Marketing Manager, Retirement Living

Ottawa, Ontario

 Position Overview:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for the leasing of the rental suites to maintain optimal occupancy levels in the Home while ensuring compliance with all levels of legislation. The successful candidate must be willing to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the home including responding to emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, promotes and implements marketing plans to ensure optimal occupancy is achieved for the home.
  • Develops marketing strategy and prepares advertising campaigns.
  • Conducts tours; provides information to the general public and community organizations; and follows up on leads in a timely manner.
  • Develops and fosters partnerships within the community.
  • Leasing of the rental units in the retirement home.
  • Managing internet marketing platforms including Facebook, website, LinkedIn, and ‘Google My Business’.
  • Orients new residents to ensure a smooth transition to the home.
  • Responds to resident issues and family inquiries and concerns relating to accommodations and living arrangements.
  • Identifying and resolving individual residents’ concerns and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participates as a member of the leadership team and provides support to the other members of the team.
  • Manages Marketing budget including, forecasting, monitoring, and approving expenditures.
  • Is aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provides marketing updates to GM and owners weekly.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in marketing and/or customer service (preferably in seniors living)
  • Previous experience networking with hospital discharge planners is an asset
  • Experience working with seniors
  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalency
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and direct delivery of social events
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of related software programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Valid provincial driver’s license required
