The Provincial Assessment Center (PAC) is a 10 bed assessment facility operated under the Provincial Mental Health Act offering up to 90 days in-patient assessment and treatment for referred individuals aged 14+ who have a developmental disability and challenging or significant psychiatric difficulties.

The Provincial Assessment Centre is a multi-disciplinary 24/7 tertiary mental health facility with a full-time unionized staff offering direct services to individuals including Mental Health Support Workers, RN’s, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Dietitians and Social Workers.


The position provides leadership and direction to clinicians and staff responsible for service delivery in all program areas at PAC. You are accountable for the overall operation of the Provincial Assessment Centre (PAC) and for leading and guiding all activities carried out at or through the center including planning, development, delivery of services and achieving desired business results.

To be successful as the Director of the Provincial Assessment Centre you are an established, creative, accountable leader in Healthcare with a minimum of 5 years’ experience preferably in Mental Health. You will admit, discharge, sign consent for treatment, ensure adherence and compliance with all aspects of the Mental Health Act.

You are considered an expert in fostering community and Government agency relationships and building positive outreach and provide leadership and direction to all clinicians and staff responsible for the delivery programs at PAC.

You work with our partners and adopt examples of progressive practice from our own and other jurisdictions to create innovative, person-centered solutions while measuring outcomes for those we serve in accordance with our mandate and agreements with government.


To qualify for this truly rewarding leadership role, you should have demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting and proven success in implementing strategic plans; building collaborative partnerships and alliances with Government, funders, community leaders, donors and volunteers.

A Bachelor Degree within Nursing, Mental Health or a related discipline or with a combination of Education and Healthcare leadership is required.
