The Long-Term Care sector has reported on going challenges with significant turnover in DOC leadership from 2020 to 2022 according to OLTCA article; “The Data: Long Term Care in Ontario” and “Auditors Report LTC December 2023. 

This has provided the evidence behind why we need innovative, modern and robust bold actions to revitalize the sustainability of Directors of Care (DOCs) both in LTC and Retirement.  As this LTC landscape is constantly changing, the current and future DOCs require support in elevated preparedness with professional development opportunities, such as being certified in a DOC or nursing administration program to augument their professional scope of nursing practice.

Our Pillars are robust with over 150 hours of interactive and meaningful learning outcomes. These offer a variety of exciting options for the adult learner such as e-Learning reading material, live Learning Sessions, Knowledge Exchanges (KE), Workplace Projects, Surveys, Multiple Choice Quiz, Networking Activity, Environmental Scan, Gap Analysis, Learning Journal, Personal Inventory, Leadership Self-assessment and final congress Poster Presentation.

2. Regulations and Compliance

Learn how to navigate through chosen information systems, platforms, repositories and databases, to implement requirements from the O.REGS 246/22 and FLTCA, Resident Bill of Rights, Ministry of Labour, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Human Rights for compliance.

4. Financial Management

5. Evidence Based Implementation
